The WS1 Clack Valve Wrench is used in the maintenance and servicing of Clack WS1 valves.

  • Piston Replacement
  • Seal & Spacer Replacement
  • Periodic Valve Maintenance
  • Filter Valve Servicing
  • Softener Valve Servicing
  • Technical Service & Installation
  • Do-It-Yourself Maintenance
  • Keeping a Spare Tool

05How It Is Used

How Is the WS1 Clack Valve Wrench Used?

  1. Turn Off the Water and Power

Before starting work, the water inlet to the valve is closed and the electrical connection is disconnected.

  2. Seat the Wrench on the Part

The service wrench is placed so that it seats exactly on the relevant internal part of the valve (the piston cap, for example).

  3. Remove the Part

Turning or lifting the wrench frees parts such as the piston, seals and spacer without forcing them.

  4. Carry Out Maintenance or Replacement

The parts removed are cleaned or replaced with new ones; the seals and piston are checked.

  5. Refit Them

The parts are seated back in place with the same wrench; the water and power are restored and the valve is put back into service.

06Making the Right Choice

What Determines the Right Wrench

When choosing the WS1 Clack Valve Wrench, the valve series and compatibility must be established correctly.

Valve Series

The wrench is compatible with Clack WS1 series valves; make sure your valve belongs to this series.

Intended Use

If you carry out regular valve maintenance and internal part changes, keeping the wrench to hand saves time.

Ease of Servicing

Because its design needs no other tools, users outside technical service can also work with it safely.

A Complete Set of Spares

Keeping the wrench alongside piston, seal and spacer replacements makes maintenance complete.

07Notes on Use

What to Watch For

  • Before starting work, the water inlet must always be closed and the valve’s power disconnected.
  • The wrench should be used seated fully on the part; forcing it can damage both the tool and the valve part.
  • This is a tool, not a part that contacts water, so it has no treatment or washing function.
  • Storing it somewhere dry and free of dust keeps it easy to use for a long time.

08Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What does the WS1 Clack Valve Wrench do?
It is a plastic service tool used to reach the internal parts of Clack WS1 valves (piston, seals, spacer) easily and to remove and refit them. It removes the need for a screwdriver and pliers and speeds up maintenance.
Does it treat water or contribute to the valve’s operation?
No. This is a tool; it does not contact water and does not treat it. It only makes maintenance and part changes on the valve easier; the valve goes on working without the wrench fitted.
Which valves is it used on?
It is compatible with Clack WS1 series valves; it can be used in servicing WS1-based products such as filter valves and softener valves. Compatibility should be confirmed on valves of a different series.
Why this wrench rather than a separate screwdriver and pliers?
Because the wrench is designed to seat exactly on the valve parts, removal is much quicker and the risk of damaging parts is lower. That makes it safer than a screwdriver and pliers for WS1 servicing.
Who can use it?
Technical services and users who maintain their own valves can use it safely. Its no-tools design also suits anyone wanting to do their own maintenance; even so, the water and power should be turned off before working.
