No Electricity · Simple · Economical
The Manual Valve is an electronics-free control valve that directs the water paths of sand, activated carbon and water softening vessels by hand; the user turns it to run the service, backwash and rinse cycles, and its simplicity makes it an economical, durable and easily maintained solution.
01Problem & Solution
Problem
Automatic valves with electronic boards cost more and need power. Where there is no electrical connection, or on low-consumption systems that wash rarely, that complication is unnecessary.
Solution
The Manual Valve works without electronics. The user turns the valve to manage the service, backwash and rinse cycles, and with no board to fail it is long-lasting and economical.
02Key Features
The Manual Valve is designed to control vessel units in the simplest and most dependable way.
It works with no electronic board and no power, so it can be installed where there is no electricity.
The service, backwash and rinse cycles are directed easily by turning the valve.
With no electronic board, motor or sensor, there are few components that can fail.
It costs less than an automatic valve and brings the investment budget down.
Fitted to a standard vessel neck, it is used on sand, carbon and softening vessels.
Its simple mechanical construction means an O-ring and seal change keeps it in service for years.
03Technical Specifications
| Feature | Value | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Product Type | Manual Control Valve | Which family the unit belongs to. Products in the same family can be used in place of one another. |
| Control | Hand-Turned | How the unit is managed. Automatic control needs no daily attention. |
| Electricity | Not Required | Whether electricity is needed. If it is not, the unit keeps producing during a power cut. |
| Cycles | Service · Wash · Rinse | How the resin is regenerated. This is where salt consumption comes from. |
| Use | Sand · Carbon · Softening | What setting it was designed for. A domestic unit will not carry a commercial load. |
| Connection | With Vessel Neck | Where it connects to the system. A building inlet and a flat’s internal plumbing call for different products. |
| Weight | 1 kg | Product weight. For wall mounting, the supporting surface is chosen accordingly. |
| Dimensions | 13 × 13 × 20 cm | The outer dimensions of the unit. The cabinet or plant room has to be wider than this. |
04Applications
The Manual Valve is used in treatment systems that do not need automation or where there is no electricity.
05How It Works
The valve is fitted to the neck of the vessel holding the media bed, and the inlet, outlet and drain lines connected.
With the valve in the service position, water passes through the media bed, is treated and goes to the outlet.
When it is time to wash, the user turns the valve and the water flows in reverse to clean the bed.
After the wash the valve is set to rinse; the bed is settled and the line cleared.
The valve is returned to service and the system picks up treatment where it left off.
06Making the Right Choice
When choosing the Manual Valve, the usage pattern, vessel compatibility and the discipline to keep track must be assessed correctly.
A manual valve suits places where the user can keep track of wash times.
The valve’s neck size and riser tube diameter must match the existing vessel exactly.
The facility’s peak flow must suit the valve’s capacity; excessive flow creates pressure loss.
Where there is no electricity, or the supply is intermittent, a manual valve is the practical answer.
