Limescale-Free, Safer Water with the Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System

The Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System is a two-stage installation in which a Maxi cabinet water softener and a single-lamp 21 watt UV unit run in series on the main water line. It lowers the water’s hardness to prevent limescale forming and reduces microbiological risk.

01Problem & Solution

Limescale and Tank Water Together

Problem

The Plumbing Suffers While Water Stands in the Tank

Hard water leaves limescale in boilers, plumbing and appliances, shortening their working life. In apartment blocks the water also stands in a tank, which brings microbiological risk into play. Softening alone does not address that second problem.

Solution

Softening and UV Together

The Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System meets two problems with two stages. Softening lowers the hardness and stops limescale at source, while the UV unit reduces microbiological risk.

02Key Features

Two Stages, One Compact Installation

The Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System brings two complementary units together in a single installation.

Maxi Cabinet Softening

Cation resin lowers the water’s hardness and stops limescale forming at source.

21 Watt UV Unit

Ultraviolet light disrupts the structure of microorganisms and removes their ability to reproduce.

Compact Cabinet Body

With the resin vessel and the salt store in one body, it takes up little room in the meter cupboard.

Fully Automatic Regeneration

The softening stage regenerates the resin automatically; no constant user intervention is needed.

304 Stainless Steel UV Body

The UV unit’s body is 304 grade stainless steel and works on lines up to 8 bar.

It Covers the Whole Line

Because it works on the main line, it gives the same water quality in the bathroom, the kitchen and at every point of use.

04Applications

Where Is It Used?

The Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System is used in buildings where limescale and tank-water problems occur together.

  • Apartment Block & Estate Inlets
  • Villas & Detached Houses
  • Buildings Using Tank-Stored Water
  • Hard Water Areas
  • Offices & Business Centres
  • Halls of Residence & Guest Houses
  • Hair & Beauty Salons
  • Boiler & Plumbing Protection

05How It Works

How Does the Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System Work?

  1. It Enters the Main Line

Mains or tank water is directed from the main line after the meter into the softening stage.

  2. The Resin Holds the Hardness

The cation resin holds back calcium and magnesium ions, releasing sodium in their place and lowering the hardness.

  3. On to the UV Stage

The softened water begins to pass around the quartz-sleeved lamp of the 21 watt UV unit.

  4. It Meets the UV

The ultraviolet light disrupts the structure of microorganisms in the water and removes their ability to reproduce.

  5. It Goes Out to the Plumbing

Water that has passed both stages goes out to the plumbing, and the softening stage regenerates its resin automatically.

06Making the Right Choice

Is the Two-Stage Setup Enough for You?

When choosing the Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System, consider hardness, the chlorine situation and consumption.

The Chlorine Situation

This installation has no carbon stage; if the smell of chlorine is noticeable, activated carbon should be added.

Water Hardness

The degree of hardness directly determines the softening capacity and how often it regenerates.

Daily Consumption

The number of residents and the instantaneous draw together determine the capacity of both stages.

Installation Space

Enough space for both units, a drain line and electrical access must be planned in advance.

07Maintenance and Use

Notes That Keep It Performing

The Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System runs steadily when each stage gets its own maintenance.

  • Check the softener’s salt store regularly; when the salt runs out, regeneration does not happen.
  • Measure the hardness of the outlet water periodically; if it is rising, check the resin and the valve.
  • A UV lamp loses intensity even while it continues to light, and must be renewed periodically.
  • If limescale or sediment builds up on the quartz sleeve the UV cannot reach the water; it must be cleaned regularly.

08Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What does the Apartment Block Inlet Treatment System do?
It is a two-stage system installed on the main water line. The softening stage lowers the water’s hardness and prevents limescale forming, while the UV stage reduces microbiological risk.
Does it remove the smell of chlorine?
No. Because this installation has no activated carbon stage, the chlorine, odour and organic load is not removed. If chlorine is a noticeable problem, choose the three-stage setup or add a carbon stage.
Is the water it produces drinkable?
This system raises the quality of the water used around the building, but it does not remove dissolved salts and softened water is not used as drinking water. A reverse osmosis stage is separately needed for drinking water.
Why is the UV after the softener?
The UV stage is only effective in clear water. The softening stage prepares the water for it; in turbid or sediment-laden water the light does not carry and performance falls.
How is the capacity determined?
The number of residents, daily consumption, instantaneous draw, inlet pressure and the water analysis are assessed together. The configuration is designed from those figures; we recommend having a water analysis done.

Installation and commissioning

Installation is a service · plumbing is the customer’s responsibility

The system is delivered ready to install; it only needs to be connected to the inlet and outlet lines. If valve setup is required, we provide free support over a video call. Installation and commissioning fall under our service work and are subject to a service fee. Plumbing labour and any pipes, valves and fittings are not included in the price; these items are the customer’s responsibility.

Warranty

2 years · manufacturer

The system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.

Withdrawal and returns

Distance sales agreement

The right of withdrawal and the return terms are set out in detail in the distance sales agreement. Systems that have been installed and commissioned, and made-to-order products, are outside its scope.

Cancellation and return terms

How can we help?

Two different requests, two different forms.

The two forms ask different things: if we are building a new system we ask about your water and capacity; if your existing system needs service we ask for its brand and a photo.
