Building Inlet · Ultraviolet Treatment
The Building Inlet Ultraviolet Water Treatment Unit connects to the main water line and uses UV light to remove the ability of microorganisms in the water to reproduce; without chemicals, and without changing the taste or smell of the water, it gives safer, better-quality water throughout the building.
01Problem & Solution
Problem
Old pipework, storage tanks and well water all carry a risk of microorganisms entering the water. Sediment and chlorine filters are not enough against them; a further treatment stage is needed on the main line.
Solution
The Building Inlet Ultraviolet Water Treatment Unit passes the water on the main line through UV light, disrupting the structure of microorganisms and removing their ability to reproduce. Without adding chemicals or changing the taste of the water, it gives the whole building safer water.
02Key Features
The Building Inlet Ultraviolet Water Treatment Unit is designed to provide microbiological safety on the main line without chemicals.
Ultraviolet light disrupts the structure of microorganisms and stops them reproducing.
It adds no chemicals and changes neither the taste, the smell nor the chemical composition of the water.
Unlike membrane systems it sends no concentrate to drain; all the water passes through the line.
Connected to the main line, it treats all the water for the building or flat at a single point.
Its 304 stainless steel body gives a hygienic, long-lasting structure.
Changing the UV lamp once a year is usually all it takes to keep it working continuously and efficiently.
03Technical Specifications
| Feature | Value | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | Ultraviolet (UV) Light | The treatment technology used. Reverse osmosis takes out salts and heavy metals; carbon takes out taste and odour. |
| Connection | Building / Flat Main Line | Where it connects to the system. A building inlet and a flat’s internal plumbing call for different products. |
| Body | 304 Stainless Steel | The outer body material. Stainless steel means high pressure and a long life. |
| Effect | Microbiological Treatment | |
| Maintenance | Annual UV Lamp | The regular maintenance load. If filters are not changed on time, performance drops. |
| Chemicals | None Used | |
| Weight | 4 kg | Product weight. For wall mounting, the supporting surface is chosen accordingly. |
| Dimensions | 15 × 50 × 50 cm | The outer dimensions of the unit. The cabinet or plant room has to be wider than this. |
04Applications
The Building Inlet Ultraviolet Water Treatment Unit suits main-line applications where microbiological safety is wanted.
05How It Works
Water from the main line at the building inlet is directed into the stainless steel UV reactor.
The water passes around the UV lamp inside its quartz sleeve and is exposed directly to the light.
UV energy disrupts the structure of microorganisms, stopping them reproducing and making the water microbiologically safer.
The UV process adds no chemicals; the taste, smell and content of the water are preserved as it goes out to the building’s line.
Because a UV lamp loses output over time it is usually renewed once a year, which keeps the treatment effective.
06Making the Right Choice
When choosing the Building Inlet Ultraviolet Water Treatment Unit, assess the flow rate and the pre-treatment conditions carefully.
The building’s instantaneous flow rate determines the UV lamp power and reactor capacity needed.
Clear water improves UV performance; with turbid water a sediment or coarse filter is needed ahead of it.
Whether the source is mains, well or tank water affects the pre-treatment and the choice of unit.
The main line’s connection diameter and the installation space should be assessed before fitting.

The system is delivered ready to install; it only needs to be connected to the inlet and outlet lines. If valve setup is required, we provide free support over a video call. Installation and commissioning fall under our service work and are subject to a service fee. Plumbing labour and any pipes, valves and fittings are not included in the price; these items are the customer’s responsibility.
The system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.
The right of withdrawal and the return terms are set out in detail in the distance sales agreement. Systems that have been installed and commissioned, and made-to-order products, are outside its scope.
