Industrial Reverse Osmosis Membrane · 8×40
The 8040 Membrane is a large reverse osmosis element designed for high-capacity industrial water treatment; its advanced composite polyamide structure produces up to 1,000 litres of treated water per hour and rejects salinity, bacteria, viruses and heavy metals at a rate of 99.5%.
01Problem & Solution
Problem
In large-scale facilities such as factories, bottling plants and the chemical industry, demand for treated water is very high. Small membranes cannot keep up with that pace, and using many units makes the installation complex and costly.
Solution
With output of up to 1,000 litres per hour, the 8040 Membrane meets large industrial demand with a single powerful element. This reverse osmosis membrane rejects contaminants at 99.5%, delivering high-purity water.
02Key Features
The 8040 Membrane is made from high-quality materials to meet the expectations of heavy industrial use.
With output of up to 1,000 litres of treated water per hour it answers large-scale needs powerfully.
It rejects bacteria, viruses, heavy metals and organic contaminants from the water at a rate of 99.5%.
Its composite polyamide structure gives long, efficient service.
Its standard 8 × 40 inch size suits existing industrial pressure vessels.
A working pressure range of 150–225 PSI gives steady performance in heavy industrial systems.
The Vontron ULP22-8040 membrane is a dependable solution for industrial treatment.
03Technical Specifications
| Feature | Value | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 8″ × 40″ | The physical size. If a spare does not match this, it will not go into the housing. |
| Capacity | 1,000 L/hour | How much water the unit can handle. Choosing above your need does not strain it; choosing below it does. |
| Salt Rejection | %99,5 | How much of the dissolved salt is rejected. A higher figure means purer water. |
| Pressure | 150–225 PSI | |
| Brand | Vontron | The manufacturer. The valve and membrane brand decides how easily spares can be found. |
| Membrane Code | ULP22-8040 | |
| Weight | 14 kg | Product weight. For wall mounting, the supporting surface is chosen accordingly. |
| Dimensions | 16 × 16 × 90 cm | The outer dimensions of the unit. The cabinet or plant room has to be wider than this. |
04Applications
The 8040 Membrane is designed specifically for large-scale industrial water treatment systems and serves as the main treating element in facilities that need high output.
05How It Works
Water that has passed sediment, carbon and antiscalant dosing is fed to the membrane by a high-pressure pump.
As the pressurised water passes through the 8×40 spiral-wound polyamide film, salinity, bacteria, viruses and heavy metals are rejected.
The low-TDS permeate that passes the film is collected and sent to the process line or to storage.
The rejected, concentrated contamination goes to drain as concentrate, and the membrane stays clean.
The system runs without interruption, sustaining high-capacity production of up to 1,000 litres per hour.
06Making the Right Choice
The 8040 Membrane delivers its best efficiency when capacity requirement and vessel compatibility are matched correctly.
Your hourly requirement for treated water determines the membrane size; the 8040 is for large scale, up to 1,000 litres per hour.
For it to fit, the standard 8 × 40 inch size must match your existing FRP pressure vessel.
For the 150–225 PSI working range, the system must have an adequate high-pressure pump.
The TDS and hardness of the feed water affect the need for pre-filtration and antiscalant dosing, and the membrane’s life.

The system is delivered ready to install; it only needs to be connected to the inlet and outlet lines. If valve setup is required, we provide free support over a video call. Installation and commissioning fall under our service work and are subject to a service fee. Plumbing labour and any pipes, valves and fittings are not included in the price; these items are the customer’s responsibility.
This product is classed as a consumable or spare part; because its life depends on use, it is not covered by warranty. Faulty or incorrectly shipped items are replaced — just get in touch with us.
The right of withdrawal and the return terms are set out in detail in the distance sales agreement. Systems that have been installed and commissioned, and made-to-order products, are outside its scope.
