Reusable Pre-Filtration with the 20 Big Blue Collared Washable Cartridge

The 20 Big Blue Collared Washable Cartridge is a mechanical pre-filter for large-diameter Big Blue housings that can be washed and reused once it is dirty. It holds back suspended solids such as sand, silt, rust and sediment, protecting the filters and equipment behind it.

01Problem & Solution

Sediment Keeps Consuming Filters

Problem

Frequent Replacement and Its Cost

In water with a heavy load of sand, rust and silt, single-use cartridges fill quickly. Frequent replacement means both cost and maintenance effort; neglected, pressure falls and the flow weakens.

Solution

Wash It, Refit It, Use It Again

The 20 Big Blue Collared Washable Cartridge is removed, washed and refitted once it is dirty. By holding coarse dirt at the front, it extends the life of the spun, carbon and membrane stages behind it.

02Key Features

Economical, High-Flow, Durable

The 20 Big Blue Collared Washable Cartridge provides long-term pre-filtration on large-diameter lines.

Washable Construction

It is cleaned by washing under water when it gets dirty; you do not have to buy a new one each time.

20″ Big Blue Size

Suits large-diameter Big Blue housings; the large filter surface delivers high flow.

Collared Seating

The collar seats it correctly inside the housing so water cannot bypass the cartridge.

Low Pressure Loss

The large filtration surface keeps pressure loss limited even at high flow.

Protects the System

By holding coarse sediment at the front, it extends the life of the spun, carbon and membrane stages.

Lowers Running Costs

Being reusable, it reduces consumable spend on lines with a heavy sediment load.

04Applications

Where Is It Used?

The 20 Big Blue Collared Washable Cartridge is used on large-diameter water lines carrying a sediment load.

  • Building & Apartment Inlets
  • Villas & Detached Houses
  • Well & Borehole Water Lines
  • Industrial Pre-Filtration
  • Hotels & Hospitals
  • Industry & Production Plants
  • Sediment-Laden & Turbid Water
  • Reducing Consumable Costs

05How It Works

How Does the 20 Big Blue Collared Washable Cartridge Work?

  1. Fitted into the Housing

The cartridge is placed in the 20″ Big Blue housing so that its collar seats correctly.

  2. Water Passes from Outside In

Water from the line passes through the cartridge’s filtration surface towards the centre.

  3. Sediment Is Held at the Surface

Sand, silt, rust and suspended solids are held mechanically at the filtration surface.

  4. Clear Water Continues On

Freed of coarse matter, the water reaches the carbon or treatment stages that follow far cleaner.

  5. Washed and Refitted

When it gets dirty the cartridge is removed, washed under water and placed back in the housing.

06Making the Right Choice

What Decides the Right Filter

When choosing the 20 Big Blue Collared Washable Cartridge, consider the housing size, the flow rate and the contamination load.

Housing Size

This cartridge is for 20″ Big Blue housings; standard 10″ housings take a different size.

Flow Requirement

On high-flow lines such as a building inlet, the 20″ Big Blue size is the better fit.

Contamination Load

Where the sand and sediment load is heavy, a washable cartridge markedly reduces consumable costs.

Stage Layout

If chlorine and odour are to be removed a carbon stage is needed, and where there is hardness, a softening stage as well.

07Maintenance and Use

Notes That Keep It Performing

  • Before washing, shut off the water in the line and release the pressure inside the housing.
  • The cartridge should be washed with water flowing in the reverse direction so the filtration surface is not damaged.
  • When the flow weakens or the pressure drops, it is time to wash it.
  • If the filtration surface is torn or deformed, or a blockage will not clear, the cartridge should be replaced.

08Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What does the 20 Big Blue Collared Washable Cartridge do?
It is a mechanical pre-filter that holds back suspended solids such as sand, silt, rust and sediment. It is washed and reused when dirty, and it extends the life of the filters and equipment behind it.
Does it remove limescale or chlorine?
No. This is a mechanical sediment filter; it does not remove dissolved substances. Activated carbon is needed for chlorine and odour, and a softening stage for hardness.
How often should it be washed?
It depends on the contamination load of the water. Weakening flow is the first indicator; sediment-laden water needs washing more often, clean mains water less.
How does it differ from a 10 inch filter?
The 20″ Big Blue size offers a larger filtration surface and higher flow, which suits building inlets and industrial lines. 10 inch cartridges are used in domestic systems.
Can it be used indefinitely?
Being washable extends its life considerably, but not indefinitely. Once the filtration surface deforms, or a blockage will not clear by washing, the cartridge should be replaced.

Delivery

Across Türkiye · 1–3 business days

Products in stock ship free anywhere in Türkiye and arrive within 1–3 business days. Items not in stock are supplied to order — the lead time is confirmed to you when the order is approved.

Installation and commissioning

Installation is a service · plumbing is the customer’s responsibility

The system is delivered ready to install; it only needs to be connected to the inlet and outlet lines. If valve setup is required, we provide free support over a video call. Installation and commissioning fall under our service work and are subject to a service fee. Plumbing labour and any pipes, valves and fittings are not included in the price; these items are the customer’s responsibility.

Warranty

2 years · manufacturer

The system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.

Withdrawal and returns

Distance sales agreement

The right of withdrawal and the return terms are set out in detail in the distance sales agreement. Systems that have been installed and commissioned, and made-to-order products, are outside its scope.

Cancellation and return terms

How can we help?

Two different requests, two different forms.

The two forms ask different things: if we are building a new system we ask about your water and capacity; if your existing system needs service we ask for its brand and a photo.
