First-Line Protection Against Coarse Sediment with the Single Building Inlet Filter

The Single Building Inlet Filter is a large-volume, single-stage filter fitted to the main water line at a building or flat inlet; it captures the sand, rust, silt and suspended solids in mains water, clarifying it and protecting the whole installation from coarse sediment.

01Problem & Solution

Sediment Wears Out Plumbing and Appliances

Problem

Sand and Rust Are Reaching the Taps

Sand, rust, silt and suspended solids in mains and tank water spread through the whole building, wearing out taps, mixers, appliances and the boiler and leaving the water cloudy.

Solution

Single-Stage Protection on the Main Line

The Single Building Inlet Filter captures coarse sediment on the main line, clarifying the water and protecting the whole installation. It is an economical, effective first stage.

02Key Features

Economical, Durable, Effective

The Single Building Inlet Filter is built solid to protect the main line against coarse sediment.

Coarse Sediment Capture

The sediment filter captures sand, rust, silt and suspended solids effectively.

Large-Volume Housing

A durable, large-volume housing suits high-flow building inlet use.

Plumbing Protection

By capturing sediment on the main line it protects taps, mixers and appliances.

An Economical Solution

Its single-stage design makes it the most cost-effective building inlet protection.

Easy Cartridge Changes

The filter cartridge changes straightforwardly; maintenance is quick and effortless.

04Applications

Where Is It Used?

The Single Building Inlet Filter suits anywhere that wants coarse sediment protection on the main line.

  • Apartment Block Inlet
  • Flat Inlet
  • Villas
  • Tank Outlets
  • Ahead of the Boiler
  • Ahead of Advanced Treatment

05How It Works

How Does the Single Building Inlet Filter Work?

  1. Water Enters from the Main Line

Water from the main line at the building or flat inlet is directed into the filter housing.

  2. Through the Sediment Cartridge

As the water passes through the sediment cartridge, sand, rust, silt and suspended solids are captured.

  3. Clear Water Is Delivered

Freed of coarse sediment, clear water goes out to the building’s supply line and the plumbing is protected.

06Making the Right Choice

Single Stage or Multi-Stage?

When choosing the Single Building Inlet Filter, it matters to identify your need correctly.

Is Sediment Your Only Problem?

Where sand, rust and silt are the only problem, a single-stage filter is enough and economical.

If There Is Chlorine or Odour

If the taste and smell of chlorine are there too, you need to move to the twin model (sediment + carbon).

Building Size

The number of flats and the flow rate determine the housing size and the cartridge micron rating.

Its Role as Pre-Treatment

Ahead of RO or softening it captures sediment, protecting those systems and extending their life.

07Maintenance and Replacement

Notes That Keep It Performing

  • The sediment cartridge should be changed periodically according to the feed water’s sediment load; a drop in flow is the sign that replacement is due.
  • Check the housing gasket when changing the cartridge and keep the seal sound.
  • If chlorine and odour removal is needed, it can be upgraded to the twin or triple model, which adds a carbon stage to the same housing arrangement.

08Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What does the Single Building Inlet Filter do?
On the main line at a building or flat inlet it captures sand, rust, silt and suspended solids. It clarifies the water and protects the whole installation, the taps and the appliances from coarse sediment.
Does it make the water drinkable?
No. This filter clears household water of coarse sediment but does not treat it to drinking standard. A reverse osmosis system is needed for drinking water.
Does it remove chlorine and limescale?
A single-stage sediment filter removes neither chlorine nor limescale. The twin model with a carbon stage is needed for chlorine and odour, and a water softener for limescale.
How does it differ from the twin and triple models?
The same housing arrangement is used; the single has only a sediment stage. The twin adds carbon and the triple adds a further fine sediment stage, widening the scope of treatment.

Installation and commissioning

Installation is a service · plumbing is the customer’s responsibility

The system is delivered ready to install; it only needs to be connected to the inlet and outlet lines. If valve setup is required, we provide free support over a video call. Installation and commissioning fall under our service work and are subject to a service fee. Plumbing labour and any pipes, valves and fittings are not included in the price; these items are the customer’s responsibility.

Warranty

2 years · manufacturer

The system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.

Withdrawal and returns

Distance sales agreement

The right of withdrawal and the return terms are set out in detail in the distance sales agreement. Systems that have been installed and commissioned, and made-to-order products, are outside its scope.

How can we help?

Two different requests, two different forms.

The two forms ask different things: if we are building a new system we ask about your water and capacity; if your existing system needs service we ask for its brand and a photo.
