05How It Works
How Does the Bag Filter Work?
Water Enters the Body
Dirty water is taken in through the inlet of the stainless steel body and directed into the bag held by the support basket.
Inside-Out Filtration
Water passes from the inside of the bag to the outside; particles are held inside the bag according to the micron rating chosen.
Clean Water Outlet
Water freed of particles leaves through the body outlet to the next stage or to use.
Pressure Monitoring
As the bag fills, the pressure difference between inlet and outlet rises; that difference is the most reliable sign that it is time to change.
Bag Change / Washing
A full bag is removed and replaced with a new one; washable mesh bags are cleaned and reused.

07Maintenance and Use
Notes That Keep It Performing
- The bag should be changed when the inlet-outlet pressure difference rises noticeably; depending on water quality its life is usually 1–6 months.
- If the bag is not changed in time it blocks, and the dirt that builds up can damage the equipment downstream; monitoring the pressure matters.
- Washable stainless mesh bags can be cleaned and reused; with single-use bags a new one is fitted.
- The Bag Filter only holds particles; softening, carbon and reverse osmosis stages are needed for dissolved salts, limescale and chlorine.

What does the Bag Filter do?

How does it differ from a PVC body?
A stainless steel body is hygienic, does not corrode and withstands higher pressure and temperature; it is ideal for drinking water, food and pharmaceutical lines. PVC-bodied Bag Filters are more economical and stand up to acidic or salty water.
How long does a bag last?
Depending on water quality and the micron rating chosen, usually between 1 and 6 months. When there is a marked pressure drop between inlet and outlet, the bag needs changing.
What is the difference between a bag and a cartridge?
A bag has a higher dirt-holding capacity and is more economical; a cartridge filters more finely. The choice follows the need: where very fine treatment is required, a cartridge filter is preferred.
Does it make the water drinkable?
No. The Bag Filter only holds coarse dirt (particles, sediment, sand); it does not remove dissolved salts, limescale, chlorine or microorganisms. Drinkable water calls for advanced stages such as reverse osmosis.

2 years · manufacturerThe system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.
