01Problem & Solution

Chlorinated, Smelly Mains Water

Problem

The Smell of Chlorine Reaches Every Tap

Chlorine and organic matter in mains water give it an unpleasant taste and smell, while coarse sediment and silt make it cloudy. Without treatment on the main line, the problem carries to every tap in the building or flat.

Solution

Carbon Treatment on the Main Line

The Activated Carbon Unit captures chlorine, odour and coarse sediment on the main line, leaving the water clear and odour-free. Because it cleans itself by automatic backwashing, it needs no constant attention.

02Key Features

Automatic, Low-Maintenance, Effective

The Activated Carbon Unit is designed to run automatically for effortless use at a building or flat inlet.

Chlorine and Odour Removal

Activated carbon adsorbs chlorine and unpleasant odours, noticeably improving the taste of the water and how it drinks.

Automatic Backwash

The unit backwashes itself at regular intervals, keeping the carbon bed working efficiently.

Low Maintenance

It needs no constant filter changes; renewing the carbon once a year is usually enough.

A Building Main-Line Solution

Connected to the main water line, it treats the water for the whole building or flat at a single point.

Adsorption Technology

A micro-porous carbon structure captures contaminants across a large surface area for effective treatment.

Clear Water

By capturing coarse sediment and silt it clarifies the water and raises overall quality.

03Technical Details

System Details

Feature Value What it does
Connection Building / Flat Inlet Where it connects to the system. A building inlet and a flat’s internal plumbing call for different products.
Treatment Media Activated Carbon
Cleaning Automatic Backwash How the unit cleans itself. Backwashing renews the filter without chemicals.
Operation Fully Automatic How the unit runs. Pumped models keep producing even when mains pressure is low.
What It Removes Chlorine · Odour · Sediment
Maintenance Carbon Renewed Once a Year The regular maintenance load. If filters are not changed on time, performance drops.
Weight 30 kg Product weight. For wall mounting, the supporting surface is chosen accordingly.
Dimensions 30 × 40 × 150 cm The outer dimensions of the unit. The cabinet or plant room has to be wider than this.

04Applications

Where Is It Used?

The Activated Carbon Unit suits buildings and businesses that want to improve the taste, odour and clarity of chlorinated mains water on the main line.

  • Apartment Block Inlet
  • Flat Inlet
  • Villas
  • Hotels
  • Offices
  • Restaurants
  • Chlorinated Mains Water
  • Ahead of RO / Softening

05How It Works

How Does the Activated Carbon Unit Work?

  1. Water Enters from the Main Line

Mains water from the main line at the building or flat inlet is directed to the carbon bed inside the unit.

  2. Through the Carbon Bed

As the water passes through the activated carbon bed, chlorine, organic matter and odour compounds are adsorbed across its large surface area.

  3. Clear Water Is Delivered

Freed of coarse sediment and chlorine, clear, odour-free water goes out to the building’s or flat’s supply line.

  4. Automatic Backwash

The unit backwashes itself at set intervals, flushing accumulated sediment to drain and keeping the carbon working efficiently.

  5. Annual Carbon Renewal

Because the carbon saturates over time it is usually renewed once a year, which keeps treatment performance constant.

06Making the Right Choice

What Decides the Right Unit

When choosing the Activated Carbon Unit, assess the size of the building and the purpose of treatment carefully.

Building Size and Flow Rate

The number of flats and the instantaneous water draw determine the vessel size and treatment capacity needed.

Purpose of Treatment

The unit is for chlorine, odour and sediment; a softener is needed for limescale and reverse osmosis for drinking water.

Its Role as Pre-Treatment

Placed ahead of RO or softening systems, the carbon unit removes chlorine and makes an ideal protective pre-stage.

Connection and Installation

The main line’s connection diameter and the installation space should be assessed before fitting the unit.

07Maintenance and Use

Notes That Keep It Performing

  • Carbon saturates over time; renewing it once a year is usually enough to keep treatment performance up.
  • The automatic backwash programme should be set to suit water use, so the carbon bed keeps working efficiently.
  • The Activated Carbon Unit does not reduce hardness (limescale); where limescale is a problem it should be used together with a water softener.
  • Used as pre-treatment ahead of reverse osmosis or softening systems, it extends their life too.

08Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What does the Activated Carbon Unit do?
It removes chlorine, unpleasant odours, the organic matter that spoils taste, and coarse sediment, leaving the water clear and odour-free. It raises the overall quality of the water on the main line at a building or flat inlet.
Does it remove limescale and hardness?
No. Activated carbon is for chlorine, odour, taste and organic matter; it does not reduce the water’s hardness. A water softener is needed for limescale. The two can be used together.
Do the filters need changing constantly?
No. The unit cleans itself by automatic backwashing and needs no frequent filter changes. Renewing the carbon once a year is usually enough.
Where is it used?
At apartment block and building inlets, flat inlets, villas, hotels, offices and restaurants — anywhere chlorine and odour removal is wanted on the main line.
How does it differ from a reverse osmosis system?
The carbon unit removes chlorine, odour, taste and coarse sediment, improving general water quality on the main line. Reverse osmosis treats more comprehensively — including salinity and fine contaminants — and produces drinking water. The carbon unit is often used as pre-treatment ahead of RO as well.

Products in stock ship free anywhere in Türkiye and arrive within 1–3 business days. Items not in stock are supplied to order — the lead time is confirmed to you when the order is approved.

Installation and commissioning

Installation is a service · plumbing is the customer’s responsibility

The system is delivered ready to install; it only needs to be connected to the inlet and outlet lines. If valve setup is required, we provide free support over a video call. Installation and commissioning fall under our service work and are subject to a service fee. Plumbing labour and any pipes, valves and fittings are not included in the price; these items are the customer’s responsibility.

Warranty

2 years · manufacturer

The system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.

Withdrawal and returns

Distance sales agreement

The right of withdrawal and the return terms are set out in detail in the distance sales agreement. Systems that have been installed and commissioned, and made-to-order products, are outside its scope.

Cancellation and return terms

How can we help?

Two different requests, two different forms.

The two forms ask different things: if we are building a new system we ask about your water and capacity; if your existing system needs service we ask for its brand and a photo.
