Renew Your Unit’s Treatment Power with the Ultraviolet Lamp

The Ultraviolet Lamp is the light source at the heart of UV water treatment units. The ultraviolet light it emits breaks down the structure of the bacteria and microorganisms in water and renders them inactive. Because its efficiency falls over time, it is a spare part that has to be renewed regularly.

01Problem & Solution

Treatment Power That Falls Over Time

Problem

Light, but No Effect

Even while ultraviolet lamps go on emitting light, their treatment effectiveness falls over time. A lamp that has reached the end of its life cannot give the water enough microbiological safety, even though the unit looks as if it is working.

Solution

Renewal with the Right Lamp

When the Ultraviolet Lamp is renewed regularly, your unit’s treatment power returns to its as-new level. Choosing the right lamp in the wattage and length that suit the unit is critical to keeping microbiological safety continuous.

02Key Features

Different Powers and Sizes

The Ultraviolet Lamp comes in a range of wattages and lengths to suit units of different capacities.

Wide Power Range

Options from 14 watts to 320 watts suit every unit, from domestic to industrial.

Effective Microbiological Treatment

The ultraviolet light it emits breaks down the structure of microorganisms and renders them inactive.

Different Length Options

Lengths from 287 mm to 1554 mm suit different chamber and reactor sizes.

Easy Replacement

It is a spare part that fits quickly in place of the existing lamp in the unit’s chamber.

Continuity of Performance

Regular renewal keeps the unit’s microbiological safety performance uninterrupted.

A Choice That Suits the Unit

Wattage, length and pin type are chosen to match your unit, giving fully compatible operation.

04Applications

Which Systems Is It Used In?

The Ultraviolet Lamp is used as the light source in every UV water treatment unit, from domestic to industrial.

  • Domestic UV Units
  • Commercial UV Units
  • Industrial UV Systems
  • Well Water Treatment
  • UV Stage After RO
  • Annual Lamp Renewal

05How It Works

How Does the Ultraviolet Lamp Work?

  1. It Sits Inside the Quartz Sleeve

The lamp is placed inside the quartz sleeve in the unit’s chamber and powered from the adaptor.

  2. It Emits Ultraviolet Light

Once powered, the lamp produces ultraviolet light that penetrates the water passing through the chamber.

  3. It Renders Microorganisms Inactive

The light breaks down the structure of the bacteria, viruses and microorganisms in the water and stops them multiplying.

  4. Efficiency Falls Over Time

As its hours mount up the lamp loses light output; even while it still lights, its treatment effect diminishes.

  5. Renewal Brings the Power Back

When a lamp that has reached the end of its life is renewed with the right model, the unit returns to full performance.

06Making the Right Choice

What Determines the Right Lamp

When choosing the Ultraviolet Lamp, the unit’s wattage and chamber size must be established correctly.

Wattage

A wattage suited to the unit’s capacity should be chosen; the wrong power upsets treatment efficiency.

Length

A lamp length matching the chamber should be chosen; options run from 287 mm to 1554 mm.

End Type

The pin type of the lamp must suit the unit’s socket; otherwise no connection can be made.

The Existing Model

The safest route is to match the model code of the old lamp in the unit exactly with the new one.

07Maintenance and Use

Notes on Correct Use

  • Even while it goes on emitting light, the lamp should generally be changed once a year (around 9,000 hours); a lamp past its life does not give adequate treatment.
  • The glass should not be touched with bare hands when fitting the lamp; fingerprints can affect light output and life.
  • Cleaning the quartz sleeve during the change as well preserves the efficiency of the new lamp.
  • An adaptor or ballast matched to the lamp wattage must be used; an unsuitable supply shortens lamp life.

08Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What does the Ultraviolet Lamp do?
It is the light source of UV water treatment units. The ultraviolet light it emits breaks down the structure of the bacteria, viruses and microorganisms in the water, renders them inactive and gives the water microbiological safety.
When should it be replaced?
Even while the lamp goes on emitting light, its treatment efficiency falls over time. Changing it after roughly 9,000 hours, that is once a year, is generally recommended.
Which wattage lamp should I choose?
It depends on the capacity of your unit. Options include 14, 21, 41, 65 and 320 watts; the wattage, length and pin type have to match your existing lamp.
What happens if the wrong lamp is fitted?
A lamp of unsuitable wattage or length may not fit the chamber properly or may not deliver enough light intensity. That reduces treatment efficiency, which is why model compatibility matters.
How is the lamp maintained?
The glass should not be touched with bare hands when fitting, the quartz sleeve should be cleaned at each change, and an adaptor matched to the lamp wattage should be used. That protects both efficiency and lamp life.

Installation and commissioning

Installation is a service · plumbing is the customer’s responsibility

The system is delivered ready to install; it only needs to be connected to the inlet and outlet lines. If valve setup is required, we provide free support over a video call. Installation and commissioning fall under our service work and are subject to a service fee. Plumbing labour and any pipes, valves and fittings are not included in the price; these items are the customer’s responsibility.

Warranty

2 years · manufacturer

The system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.

Withdrawal and returns

Distance sales agreement

The right of withdrawal and the return terms are set out in detail in the distance sales agreement. Systems that have been installed and commissioned, and made-to-order products, are outside its scope.

How can we help?

Two different requests, two different forms.

The two forms ask different things: if we are building a new system we ask about your water and capacity; if your existing system needs service we ask for its brand and a photo.
