The Finishing Touch to Your Water: the Taste Filter

The Taste Filter is a coconut-shell activated carbon post-filter that works as the final stage in a domestic under-sink treatment system. Passing the treated water through one last time, it improves the taste, the clarity and the freedom from odour, giving your drinking water a premium feel on the palate.

01Problem & Solution

Treated Water Can Taste Flat

Problem

A Standing Taste and a Faint Smell

Water that has passed the membrane can pick up a faint standing taste, a smell or a harsher feel on the palate while it waits in the tank and travels to the tap. That takes some of the pleasure out of drinking it.

Solution

A Carbon Polish at the Last Stage

The Taste Filter passes the water through coconut-shell activated carbon just before it reaches the tap. Adsorption captures the remaining taste and odour compounds, leaving the water clear, clean and soft to drink.

02Key Features

Taste, Clarity, Natural Carbon

As the last stop in your treatment system, the Taste Filter raises how well the water drinks.

Coconut Shell Activated Carbon

Naturally sourced and highly porous, it adsorbs taste and odour compounds effectively.

The Final Stage Filter

It is the last stop the water passes, giving the drinking water excellent taste and clarity.

Odour Removal

Removing the faint smells that can develop while water stands in the tank gives it a fresh feel again.

Greater Clarity

One last pass leaves the water looking clearer and cleaner.

Under-Sink Compatibility

It is a standard spare part suited to the final stage of domestic under-sink treatment systems.

Easy Replacement

Easily changed at intervals, it keeps your unit’s final-stage performance fresh.

04Applications

Where Is It Used?

The Taste Filter is used in domestic systems where how well the treated water drinks matters.

  • Under-Sink RO Systems
  • Domestic Drinking Water Units
  • Five-Stage Treatment Systems
  • Systems with a Storage Tank
  • Office & Workplace Units
  • Wherever How It Drinks Matters
  • Filter Change / Renewal
  • Water Quality for Tea & Coffee

05How It Works

How Does the Taste Filter Work?

  1. The Treated Water Arrives

Treated water that has passed the membrane and the earlier stages and waited in the tank is routed into the filter before it reaches the tap.

  2. It Passes Through the Carbon

The water flows slowly through the porous coconut-shell activated carbon bed.

  3. Taste & Odour Are Adsorbed

The carbon’s pores capture the compounds behind the taste and smell, removing the standing taste and any faint odour.

  4. Clear, Good-Tasting Water Out

Better tasting, clear and odour-free, the water is drawn from the tap as drinking water.

  5. Periodic Replacement

The carbon saturates over time; changing it once a year keeps the final-stage performance fresh.

06Making the Right Choice

What Decides the Right Filter

When choosing the Taste Filter, unit compatibility and the change routine must be assessed correctly.

System Compatibility

The filter must suit your under-sink system’s final-stage connection and size.

The Change Routine

The change interval should be planned around how much water you use; carbon past its life loses its effect on taste.

Confirming What You Need

This filter is for taste and odour; if contaminants need removing, the membrane and the earlier stages are what matter.

Carbon Quality

Coconut-shell activated carbon is an effective, natural choice for removing taste and odour.

07Maintenance and Use

Notes That Keep the Taste

  • The filter should generally be changed once a year; carbon past its life no longer deals with taste and odour properly.
  • If you notice a change in the taste or smell of the water, take it as the sign that it is time.
  • Run a few glasses off when it is first fitted to rinse away the carbon dust, and the water then runs clear.
  • The Taste Filter improves taste and odour; removing hardness, salts or heavy metals is the job of the membrane and the other stages.

08Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What does the Taste Filter do?
It is the final-stage filter in a domestic under-sink treatment system. Passing the water through coconut-shell activated carbon one last time improves the taste, the clarity and the freedom from odour, and makes the drinking water softer on the palate.
Why is it called a “post-carbon”?
“Post” means the filter comes in after the main treatment stages. The water passes through it after the membrane and after standing in the tank, on its way to the tap, which is what reduces the standing taste and any faint smell.
How does it differ from a pre-carbon filter?
A pre-carbon (CTO/GAC) comes in BEFORE the membrane and protects it by capturing chlorine. The Taste Filter works AFTER the membrane, at the final stage, and its purpose is to improve how the water tastes.
How often should it be replaced?
It varies with water quality and how much is used; once a year is generally recommended. If you notice a change in the taste or smell of the water, it may need changing sooner.
Does it treat water on its own?
No. This is a final-stage taste filter; it does not remove dissolved salts, hardness, heavy metals or microorganisms. The real treatment is done by the membrane and the earlier stages, while the Taste Filter improves only how the water finally drinks.
