01Problem & Solution

Chlorine and Odour at High Flow

Problem

Cartridge Filters Are Not Enough

In factories and industrial plants, the chlorine, organic, taste and odour load of high-flow water cannot be handled by small cartridge filters. Inadequate treatment lowers process quality and wears out the sensitive equipment behind it.

Solution

A Large-Capacity Carbon Bed

With a large carbon bed and automatic surface-piped construction, the Activated Carbon Filter System treats high-flow water without interruption. It removes chlorine, organic matter and odour, clarifying the water and protecting process quality.

02Key Features

High Capacity, Industrial Build

The Activated Carbon Filter System is built solid and automatic to meet the demands of heavy industrial use.

Effective Filtration

Activated carbon technology removes chlorine, organic matter and unpleasant taste and odour effectively.

High Capacity

Its large filtration capacity suits long-term, continuous use.

Automatic Actuated Valves

Cast butterfly valves with electric actuators manage the service and backwash cycle automatically.

Surface Piping

PVC-U surface piping gives an accessible, durable installation.

Industrial Durability

Its large vessel and solid components keep it running steadily under heavy industrial use.

Easy Integration

Its flexible design integrates easily into different industrial treatment lines.

04Applications

Where Is It Used?

The Activated Carbon Filter System is designed for industrial plants and large-scale operations that need high-flow water treatment.

  • Factories
  • Industrial Plants
  • Food & Beverage Production
  • Hotel & Estate Installations
  • High-Flow Lines
  • Pre-Treatment Ahead of RO / Process
  • Chlorine Removal Lines
  • Water Conditioning

05How It Works

How Does the Activated Carbon Filter System Work?

  1. High-Flow Water Inlet

High-flow water from the industrial line is directed through the actuated valves to the bed inside the vessel.

  2. Quartz Sand Bed

The 225 kg of quartz sand beneath distributes the flow evenly and captures coarse particles, supporting the carbon bed.

  3. Activated Carbon Adsorption

The 150 kg activated carbon bed adsorbs chlorine, organic matter and taste and odour compounds across its large surface area.

  4. Treated Water Is Delivered

Freed of chlorine and odour, clear water goes to the process line or to the next treatment stage.

  5. Automatic Backwash

The actuated valves backwash at set intervals, flushing accumulated sediment from the bed and keeping efficiency up.

06Making the Right Choice

What Decides the Right System

For the Activated Carbon Filter System, assess flow rate, purpose of treatment and valve type carefully.

Flow Rate and Capacity

The plant’s hourly water requirement determines the vessel size and the quantity of carbon needed.

Purpose of Treatment

The system is for chlorine, organics and odour; softening is needed for limescale and reverse osmosis for fine treatment.

Valve Type

The choice between electrically actuated and pneumatic; with pneumatic, the air supply and compressor capacity matter.

Pressure and Piping

The 6 bar maximum working pressure and the line piping should be assessed before installation.

07Maintenance and Use

Notes That Keep It Performing

  • Activated carbon saturates over time and should be renewed periodically according to the chlorine and organic load of the feed water.
  • Automatic backwashing flushes accumulated sediment from the bed and keeps efficiency up; the programme should be set to suit water use.
  • Check the actuated valves periodically; with a pneumatic choice, maintain the compressor and the air line.
  • The Activated Carbon Filter System does not reduce hardness (limescale); in plants with a limescale load it should be used together with a water softening system.

08Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What does the Activated Carbon Filter System do?
At industrial scale it removes chlorine, organic matter and unpleasant taste and odour, clarifying the water and raising process and service quality. It is designed for high-flow lines.
What do the carbon and the quartz sand do?
The 150 kg of activated carbon does the real treating, adsorbing chlorine, organic matter and odour. The 225 kg of quartz sand beneath distributes the flow evenly, captures coarse particles and acts as the supporting under-layer for the carbon bed.
How do the valves work?
The system runs automatically on cast butterfly valves with electric actuators. If pneumatic valves are chosen, the air supply is the customer’s responsibility; the recommended compressor capacity is at least 100 l/min at 8 bar.
Does it remove limescale and hardness?
No. Activated carbon is for chlorine, organic matter and odour; it does not reduce the water’s hardness. In plants with a limescale load it needs to be used together with a water softening system.
Where is it used?
On high-flow lines such as factories, industrial plants, food and beverage production, and hotel and estate installations. It is also chosen as a pre-treatment stage removing chlorine ahead of reverse osmosis or process treatment.

Delivery

Across Türkiye · 1–3 business days

Products in stock ship free anywhere in Türkiye and arrive within 1–3 business days. Items not in stock are supplied to order — the lead time is confirmed to you when the order is approved.

Installation and commissioning

Installation is a service · plumbing is the customer’s responsibility

The system is delivered ready to install; it only needs to be connected to the inlet and outlet lines. If valve setup is required, we provide free support over a video call. Installation and commissioning fall under our service work and are subject to a service fee. Plumbing labour and any pipes, valves and fittings are not included in the price; these items are the customer’s responsibility.

Warranty

2 years · manufacturer

The system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.

Site Survey

Free when the system is bought from us

The site survey is free when the system is purchased from us. A survey fee of ₺2,000 applies if you request the survey and measurement only.

Withdrawal and returns

Distance sales agreement

The right of withdrawal and the return terms are set out in detail in the distance sales agreement. Systems that have been installed and commissioned, and made-to-order products, are outside its scope.

How can we help?

Two different requests, two different forms.

The two forms ask different things: if we are building a new system we ask about your water and capacity; if your existing system needs service we ask for its brand and a photo.
