What does the Chlorination Unit do?

Does it remove chlorine from the water?
No — it does the opposite: this unit adds chlorine to the water under control. Removing chlorine is the job of an activated carbon stage. In a complete system the two work together: the chlorine is added at the front and, once it has done its work, removed at the carbon stage.
Is a raw water tank essential?
Yes. For the chlorine to do its work, the water must stand in a raw water tank long enough for contact time. The tank also lets the settled suspended matter collect at the bottom.
Why is chlorine testing necessary?
Regular chlorine testing is how you make sure the dose is at the right level. Under-dosing does not remove the microbiological risk, while over-dosing causes taste and odour problems in the water.
Does it remove limescale or sediment?

Warranty
2 years · manufacturerThe system is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty. During the warranty period, labour and parts are free for faults arising from manufacture or installation. Consumables such as filters, membranes and resin are outside warranty cover — they are replaced when their service life ends; they do not fail.
